Who's Our Favorite Patrick?

We only have five names/weeks left of voting. Sad face. But then we'll have a bracket of all the favorites and continue with this Friday silliness, and I LOVE IT.

Dude, I loved Ed week. It was our highest voter turnout yet, and it was incredibly close. Like two percentage points close. Sorry, my beloved Ed Harris, but you didn't quite make it.

Our favorite Ed is...

Eddie Redmayne!

Now we're moving on to Patricks, and this list is surprisingly fun. Get into it.

P.S. Prepare yourselves for no Patrick Swayze. The rules of our votes apply only to the living, so be prepared. We'll do a dance in his honor.

Patrick Adams

Where We've Seen Him

Suits. Also small but memorable parts in Orphan Black, LOST, Pretty Little Liars, and Friday Night Lights.

Why We Love Him

I've never seen Suits, so I feel lacking in my judgment of why you guys love him. However, Suits has been on the air for six years, and Patrick has been nominated for a SAG award for his role. Plus he's super cute. I know y'all have excellent reasons. I do know that he's very artistic - musical, a photographer, loves the theater - and artistic blond boys with dreamy eyes are always welcome at the table.

Patrick Dempsey

Where We've Seen Him

Grey's Anatomy, Bridget Jones' Baby, Made of Honor, Enchanted, and Sweet Home Alabama.

Why We Love Him

He's McDreamy. It's pretty self-explanatory. I've never seen Grey's, and I still have great appreciation for how hot this guy is. And, y'all, he started performing by competing in juggling competitions. He wanted to go to clown college. STOP IT. He's philanthropic, races cars, and seems to be a great dad. Two fun bits of trivia: he auditioned to play House on House and Duckie in Pretty in Pink. He also got married to his first wife when he was 21 and she was 48. This is not a typo. She was his best friend's mother.

There are no emoji or GIFs adequate to communicate the feelings about such a situation.

Patrick Duffy

Where We've Seen Him

Dallas, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Step by Step.

Why We Love Him

I know what some of you are thinking... Patrick Duffy? Unless you love Dallas or Step by Step, you so don't care. BUT LISTEN FIRST. Listen to all the things. Raised by normals in Montana and Washington state. Certified scuba instructor as a teenager, but changed course to acting. Met and married HIS CURRENT WIFE in 1974. That's forty-three years if you hate math. Had vocal chord damage which dampened his early acting opportunities, so he became a teacher and actor-in-residence. Worked as an interpreter for ballet and orchestra companies. Taught mime classes. Moved to Hollywood and worked as a carpenter and florist delivery truck driver trying to get acting jobs (and probably looked hella sexy doing it). He's Buddhist. His parents were murdered in their home by two teenagers in 1986. SO MANY THINGS, YOU GUYS. He could've become David Hasselhoff but didn't. He stayed relatively normal, is still married to the same woman, has a home in Oregon, and will always be the sexiest dad on TGIF. He deserves a spot.

Patrick Stewart

Where We've Seen Him

Star Trek: The Next Generation and all its filmsthe X-Men franchise, The Hollow Crown, and hours and hours of fantastic voice work because of that fantastic voice.

Why We Love Him

  1. His voice.
  2. His skull.
  3. His talent.
  4. His forearms.
  5.  His sense of humor.
  6. His ability to play Shakespeare on stage for TWENTY SEVEN YEARS STRAIGHT.
  7. His love of Reba McIntyre music.

Patrick Wilson

Where We've Seen Him

In nothing and in everything, right? You don't know where you've seen him, but you've still seen him everywhere. (Try Fargo, Evening, The Phantom of the Opera, Angels in America, Little Children, The Conjuring, Matters of the Heart, Prometheus, A Gifted Man, and The A-Team.)

Why We Love Him

One of the reasons his movie resume isn't as memorable is because he's spent more time in the theater, but he's racked up a few award nominations for both... two lead actor Tony nominations, two Golden Globe nominations, and one Emmy nomination. He's under the radar, but not for everyone and maybe you're one of them.

Voting is over! Patrick Stewart has your heart!
